Josiah & Brandi | Proposal Story

I was so excited to shoot Josiah and Brandi’s proposal. Josiah created my website, and at the end of the process he mentioned that he had just purchased an engagement ring for his girlfriend, Brandi. I was so thrilled for him, and offered to shoot the proposal. As a girl waiting on a ring myself, I think a hidden photographer is a must!

Josiah had a really sweet proposal planned for Brandi. He had photos of each important moment in their relationship. A photo of where they had their first date, where they first kissed, and where they first said “I love you.” He also had a letter that he wrote while on a mission trip, before he met Brandi, about the woman he would marry. He said she fits the letter perfectly.

I loved every minute of shooting this proposal, and hope to shoot more in the future!

Josiah said that he joked about just giving Brandi a ring pop, and he did. I helped him set up before hand, and he was so excited about the ring pop. Too cute!

Then he pulled out the real ring!

Gentry & Nichole Griffith | Lubbock Wedding Photographer

Gentry and Nichole are so great. I loved shooting their engagement photos, and I loved shooting their wedding even more. They had a small wedding at The Lubbock Dream Center, and it was beautiful. Nichole made a gorgeous bride, and it was so evident that Gentry was proud to be her groom. I’m so thankful to have shot their wedding!

I love this next photo! Nichole has made it to the end of the aisle, to her soon to be husband, and she’s taking that “Oh my gosh, I’m getting married!” breath.

I also love this photo as well. Gentry’s face says everything.

Nichole wrote vows for, her new son, Kaden. It was such a sweet and tender moment between them.

Just married, and so happy!

Austen & Shannon Hubbard | Lubbock Wedding Photographer

I am so excited to post this wedding. Shannon emailed me in October letting me know that she was engaged and wanted me to shoot her wedding. I was thrilled! I actually shot Shannon’s sister’s wedding in June, and loved the idea of capturing both of these lovely lady’s special days.

Shannon and Austen were married, on a gorgeous day in December, at The Legacy, downtown. I had been following Shannon’s pinterest page on the weeks leading up to her wedding, and became so excited. She had a simple, and elegant vision of her vintage wedding, and it came together so well. She even made her own bouquets!

I’m so honored to have had the chance to get to know Shannon and Austen, and to see their family again.

Emily for Savannah King Hair | Lubbock Portrait Photographer

So, my best friend, Savannah King, is the best hairstylist. She moved back to Lubbock last May and is working on building a clientele here. So, naturally, we decided to trade services to create a portfolio for her hair website and show off her amazing skills. If you “like” my facebook photography page, you may have noticed some other stunning girls on there a few months ago. They were some of our hair models, and will be on the blog soon!

Today, I decided to blog, one of the sweetest girls ever, Emily! Savannah and I met Emily through work, and Emily and I happen to go to the same church. She has the biggest heart for the Lord, which I love, and the kindest heart for people. She’ll make you feel like she’s known you forever, when she’s only known you for a minute, all because she cares. I definitely am so thankful and blessed to know Emily.

Oh, and she’s an amazing model!

This photo shoot took 25-30 minutes, at most, because it was super cold, and it’s definitely a favorite! I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do.

A little info about Emily’s hair: Savannah cut 3 inches off of Emily’s hair and created the “Ombre” look with her color.

Urban Dictionary’s definition of “Ombre” hair:

Ombre hair refers to hair color fading from dark to light, or vice versa. Instead of the color starting from the roots, it gradually becomes lighter, or darker, towards the ends. The word “ombre” in French means shadow or shade. Think Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and the City, Rachel Bilson, Whitney Port.

Friend 1: “Did you notice all the celebrities are letting their roots grow out?”

Friend 2: “Yes, that’s called ombre hair!”

I’m so excited to unveil my new website, logo, and blog. I figured it was about time to, finally, have a website. I hope you all enjoy the site and blog! I’m really excited to have my blog integrated into my website, and I hope my readers enjoy it as well.

I’m really excited for things to come within the next few weeks and months for my business. The first thing coming up, very soon, is the Lubbock Bridal Show. I will have a small booth there, and I’m beyond excited to showcase some of my work, and try something new for my business. So if you’re a bride and don’t have tickets to the show, GO PURCHASE THEM TODAY, and come visit my booth. Tickets are $10 at Ribbons and Bows Intimates.

Monica, Melina, & Mitch | Sibling Session

Back at end of November, I did a sibling shoot for my friend, Melina, and her brother and sister, Monica and Mitch, to surprise their mom for Christmas. I know Melina through work, and we have grown to become good friends. My best friend, and amazing hairstylist, Savannah King, did the girl’s hair for the shoot, and I believe she cut Mitch’s hair as well.

Monica, Melina, and Mitch are so great to be around. They’re all extremely funny when together, and they have the best sibling dynamic that, to be honest with you, I’m jealous of. Needless to say, we all laughed a ton on this shoot. I definitely had a wonderful time with these three, and heard that their mom loved the photos. She even cried!

Gentry & Nichole | Lubbock Engagement Photographer

Nichole and I met through work. Just a few months ago we were connecting over our similar taste in all things wedding. Talking about everything from engagement rings to centerpieces. Now, she’s engaged! I, of course, am still waiting patiently. Well, somewhat patiently.

Nichole and Gentry are a super sweet couple. They met at a local college, LCU, in a class they had together. They spoke for the first time in the library, when Nichole missed class and wanted to borrow notes from Gentry. It’s amazing how Nichole missing a class changed her life. I just love, love.

Gentry has the cutest, 7 year old, son, Keegan, that we added into the first hour of photos. He was great about having his picture taken and never once complained. I can’t wait until the wedding, to not only take photos of Nichole and Gentry, but to take photos of Keegan.

Congrats you guys!
