If you saw my story the past few days, then you know about @stylemepretty. You also know there’s a link in my profile to sign the petition to help save it! I can talk all day about how much I love the inspiration that can come from that blog or how it changed my business, but let’s get real here. People are losing their jobs, that they thought were secure! So if you don’t care about the wedding blog because you’re already married or you have better things to do, at least think about the people who only found out on Monday, with no warning, that they are in the market for a new job. I’m going to be honest. Sometimes I have nothing fun, clever, exciting, captivating, or even relevant to write as my instagram caption. Sometimes I just want to post a photo that I like, that looks pretty in my feed. Sometimes I choose not to post because of the weight I feel writing about every stinking image! Yes, it probably means I should post more of me and my life in my feed and less of my work, but this lovely place called social media scares me from doing so. The judgement, the loss of followers who get bored, the pressure. It all stops me. I also like to be present in my real life and not focus on how great I can make things look online. So I think I’m just going to post what I like without captions every once in a while. I might only share my pretty photo and that’s it. I might share my life and exactly what I’m feeling in that moment of sharing, rather than not sharing at all because i think I’m boring and I don’t feel perfect enough. I’m going to stop letting fear of judgement make my decisions for me and try to enjoy Instagram again! So enjoy this pretty little photo of some pretty little blooms.
